Embody Your Greatness

About Becky

Becky Brittain PhD, R-DMTBecky Brittain

Optimizing potential is vital to evolving humanity. I want everyone, whatever their stage in  the dance of life, to be able to embody their greatness and get in touch with their genius.

Embody your Greatness is the culmination of my life’s work. It incorporates ALL of my talents and skills as a body-centered psychotherapist, registered dance-movement therapist, college instructor and my work as The Mothering Coach. In my sessions with clients, I combine my clinical knowledge about personal growth, developmental stages, mind-body healing, neuroscience, attachment and trauma recovery with my dance, authentic movement and expressive arts therapy training.

Embody your Greatness came from the Somatic Psychology class I taught at Washington University as a part of their Somatic Certification Program. I had such great results with my students that I had to share with the larger world!  I have developed it into a somatic arts method that incorporates relaxation, inner focusing, visualization and drawing/movement. This experiential work opens clients to exploring their own inner landscape and language of images, movements, emotions, rhythms and consciousness.

I received my Ph.D. in Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology from Santa Barbara Graduate Institute, my M.A. in Dance-Movement Therapy from UCLA and my B.A. from Mount Holyoke College in Psychology and Dance. I have had the world’s best teachers and am indebted to them as they encouraged me to follow my dreams and to lead in new fields of study.

I taught authentic movement to adults and adolescents with eating disorders at McCallum Place in St. Louis and did dance therapy with pediatric cancer patients.  I have also worked with patients/clients at Barnes Hospital, Edgewood Children’s Center, Judevine Center for Autism, and St. Louis Institute for the Deaf. I have also taught numerous creative and mother/baby classes at the Center for Creative Arts (COCA).
